What folks are saying about sue
"Many, many thanks from the Children's Program of the San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind and Vision Impaired for all your help with making our 3rd Annual Halloween Bash a howling success this year. Your storytelling skills were superb and VERY much appreciated. The children loved hearing your stories and participating in the actions, but the parents are the ones who expressed their thanks by telling us how much they appreciated having a really enjoyable experience for them as well!" - Carrilee Adkins, Manager Children's Program, San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind
"Sue's contributions to our campus are too numerous to list. However, I can say that she has given students a sense of accomplishment and empowerment that they lacked before. She has been able to do that for our teachers as well. I would highly endorse Ms. Kuentz and her presentations for all campuses. She truly makes a difference." - Victor Saldaña, Principal, West Avenue Elementary School

"I have a personal story about Sue. She had my youngest boy, Patrick, and developed him as a storyteller in the best way. He and another young boy went all the way to Denton, TX to participate in the Tejas Storytelling Festival via storytelling competitions held in San Antonio. They had a marvelous time. Sue's ability to capture students' attention with storytelling, develop their confidence, develop their speaking ability, and develop how they can present a story has helped him as a college student. So Sue and I go back a long way. It's a great personal story." – Dr. Richard Middleton, former Superintendent of North East I.S.D., San Antonio, TX
"I just wanted to take a moment to commend you on your fantastic Storytelling talent. I have been at West Avenue for eight years, and you were the first storyteller I can remember. You did such a wonderful job! The students and teachers were so impressed with your stories and the way you were able to draw them in, they are still talking about you. I even had one first grade student come up and ask me for the book you told. He told me, '…you know the book, it's in section 398.2." At first I wasn't sure what he was talking about because he was repeating numbers but then he explained…that lady said you had the book!' I laughed So hard! Thank you for making that impression on that child."

"I have known Sue for 27 years. I was her principal for 10 of those years, but mostly I have had the pleasure of being her friend. Her impact on children and their families is amazing. Through the combination of a good story and Sue’s infectious enthusiasm, she engages children in the art of storytelling. What I loved about Sue’s storytelling clubs was that she reached out to all types of children, shy ones, outgoing ones, those who were confident, insecure, dramatic, bright, or struggling learners…..all children. I was always proud to witness our students improve with every performance. With Sue’s encouragement they gained life skills and had fun doing it. It is an honor to know Sue." - Terri Chidgey, Executive Director of School Improvement, North East I.S.D., San Antonio, TX
"I met Sue Kuentz at Stone Oak Elementary where we had the wonderful experice of co-teaching 4th and 5th grade students. I was also fortunate to help her sponsor the Story Telling Club at Stone Oak Elementary. While I am sure Sue appreciated my help and support, she was the heart of the club. Her story telling abilites, enthusiasum and coaching of the students led them to become wonderful, and some award winning, story tellers.
I've also attended events with my son, Brandon, where Sue was one of the story tellers. What a treat! He and I truly enjoyed listening and watching as she entertained us with her great talent." – Lisa Guerrero, special ed co- teacher, San Antonio, TX
