Saddle up, grab your storytelling sachels, and gallop on over to George West Storyfest on November 1 - 2, 2015 right here in South Texas. There's plenty of stories, song, dance, poetry, food, and more of all of that for everyone!
This will be my first year to attend and be a teller at the fest and I am popcorn in the pan excited! Friday, several of us will be telling in the schools - elementary and on up - I can't wait!
Saturday, there will be tents of telling from Cowboy poetry to Ghost Stories that evening - get your goose bumps on!
Here's the best part…IT'S FREE! Well, not the food and drinks and vendor selling, but the entertainment - IT'S ALL FREE! Our very own Texas Teller, Tom McDermott, a featured teller, will simply draw you into storytelling and song with his Irish tales and personal stories! Lynn Ruehlmann and Suzi "Mama" Whaples are also the featured tellers. Some of my storytelling friends who will also be telling are Mary Grace Ketner, Consuelo Somarripa, Tim Tingle, Mary Ann Blue, Larry Thompson, Mark Babino, Donna Ingham, Bernadette Nason, and Mary Margaret Dougherty Campbell, Director of this entire Fest!
I'll be telling at the Ghost Stories Concert, Saturday night at 8:00p.m. and a 30 minute concert some time during the day on Saturday. We would be honored if you stopped by and sat in the tents to listen, laugh, and get a bit scared!
